West Nile 2003 - The Basics

This is the third season in which my website Encephalitis Global ( www.encephalitis.ca OR www.encephalitisglobal.com ) has offered information and support to people seeking to learn more about all types of encephalitis, including West Nile.

As West Nile approaches, I believe that MOST of the public know little or nothing about West Nile Virus. Unfortunately, this lack of knowledge only causes panic and fear, as folks read the latest headlines.

Encephalitis Global has designed a one page information pamphlet, which will share the basics with folks who wish to understand.    As you will see on the information pamphlet, "Yes! This document may be reprinted". If this pamphlet can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to use it!

Encephalitis Global was proud to assist in organizing the first North American Encephalitis Conference held in Ottawa in September 2002. FACES to FACES (Friends And Caregivers, Encephalitis Survivors) welcomed guests from USA, UK, India and Canada. In September 2003, the next Conference will be held in Las Vegas, USA. When I created my website, Encephalitis Global, I was so very proud that the National Library of Canada quickly included a link to the site. In the USA, NORD (National Organization of Rare Diseases) includes us as the "organization related to West Nile encephalitis". We subscribe to the HONcode principles of the Health On the Net Foundation and qualify with pride to show their icon on our title page.
