AMREL Introduces Military Grade Tablet for Civilian Applications

AMREL Corporation today released for sale the ROCKY APEX, a fully rugged tablet computer designed after the company's military grade tablet, the ROCKY Patriot IV, for applications in law enforcement, transportation, construction, utilities and other fields requiring rugged, dependable computing solutions.

Arcadia, CA, AMREL Corporation today released for sale the ROCKY APEX, a fully rugged tablet computer designed after the company's military grade tablet, the ROCKY Patriot IV, for applications in law enforcement, transportation, construction, utilities and other fields requiring rugged, dependable computing solutions.

"Weighing less than four (4) pounds apiece, the ROCKY tablets are the lightest fully rugged Windows XP platform tablets on the market today," said Linda Talcott, AMREL's director of corporate communications. "The APEX is an example of technology at its best - a versatile solution designed in response to consumer needs," Talcott added.

To ensure the APEX's ability to perform dependably even in the most severe conditions, the standard ROCKY APEX offers compliance to both military and industrial ruggedization standards (MIL-STD 810F & IP54).

The ROCKY APEX also features sealed metallic magnesium casing, internally sealed ports and precautionary port covers, a Touchscreen that accepts finger and stylus input, hot swappable batteries, programmable function keys, an Intel Pentium III 500MHz CPU, 128MB SDRAM, and a 20GB Hard Drive. Options for the APEX include an external dust and water resistant backlit keyboard, a locking adjustable stand, a docklight for port expansion, and a suite of wireless networking options (including CDPD and GPRS).

Headquartered in Arcadia, California, AMREL Corporation is comprised of three divisions, American Reliance, AMREL Systems, and AMREL Telecom- each of which is dedicated to the design, development and manufacturing of specialized solutions within their respective markets.

AMREL products include the ROCKY line of fully rugged computer systems, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, and telecommunication test equipment. Visit www.amrel.com for further details.
