Toronto's Luxury Landscape will rise to new heights

Toronto (April 2003): Need another reason to visit Toronto The Soho Metropolitan offers business and recreational travelers an irresistible reason: an unparalleled hotel experience. Opening in May 2003 in the heart of the downtown entertainment district, the Soho Met will be the city?s most stylish hotel with substance, offering guests the ultimate in luxury and exceptional service.

The Soho Metropolitan, a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, is an 88-room luxury boutique hotel. It will operate at the five-star level, featuring Toronto?s finest food and beverage service at its Senses restaurant and bar. The property will also include a fully-staffed spa, state-of-the-art athletic club and meeting facilities. Built by well-known company Page & Steele Architects & Planners, the Soho Metropolitan will feature a contemporary interior look created by award-winning company Urban Innovations.

Adding to the luxurious atmosphere of the Soho Met will be a stunning installation of glass artwork from world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly. The installation will be the first and only one of its kind in Toronto and will be prominently displayed as the building?s front canopy. The glass canopy captures Chihuly?s trademark of marrying fantastic, complex shapes with dazzling colour combinations. The installation, not yet titled, is composed of dozens of handblown forms, creating a coloured veil of glass that captivates the senses upon entry to the Soho Metropolitan.

?The Soho Metropolitan will boast a dynamic environment coupled with unparalleled service for the ultimate hotel experience, ? says Henry Wu, President, Metropolitan Hotels. ?We understand that setting and amenities do not, by themselves, account for the Soho Met?s extraordinary appeal. Exceptional service and attention to detail are critical success factors and with ?round the clock concierge, maid, valet and room service, virtually everything is at guests? fingertips.?

Metropolitan Hotels, which operates luxury properties in Vancouver and Toronto with more than 730 rooms in total, is committed to providing luxury accommodation for business and leisure travelers seeking an independent choice for travel.
