Attention: Calendar/Events Listings Contemporary Armenian Art Featured at Forest Lawn Museum
From Ararat to America, a unique and unprecedented collection of works by 17 contemporary Armenian artists will be the featured exhibit at The Forest Lawn Museum in Forest Lawn-Glendale from April 26th through July 13, 2002. The exhibit is a celebration of Armenian art and artists in Los Angeles and coincides with the April 24th memorial to the Armenian Genocide.

* May 31st ˇV Armenian Architecture ˇV Join us as we learn the history of Armenian architecture and where we can see it in our own back yard. Program begins at 1 p.m.
* June 7th ˇV Storytelling Theatre Workshop ˇV Join us as we read Armenian tales and bring them to life through the magic of theatre! Program begins at 1 p.m.

Overview: From Ararat to America, a unique and unprecedented collection of works by 17 contemporary Armenian artists will be the featured exhibit at The Forest Lawn Museum in Forest Lawn-Glendale from April 26th through July 13, 2002. The exhibit is a celebration of Armenian art and artists in Los Angeles and coincides with the April 24th memorial to the Armenian Genocide. The artwork represented in the exhibit stems from a rich collection of forms and images, skills and attitudes that make up Armenian culture and heritage and add to the distinctive vision of the artists. ˇ§From Ararat to Americaˇ¨ is part of Forest Lawn Museum presents events which are designed to bring a diverse mix of community, cultural, and historic art and artists to the greater Los Angeles community. The exhibit is open to the public at no charge seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
Artists featured in the exhibit include many who have gained worldwide recognition for their works and contributions to the art community. The following artistsˇ¦ work will be included in the exhibit: Martiros Adalian, Raffi Adalyan, Vladimir Atanian, Vahe Berberian, Vahe Fattal, Charles Garabedian, Gaspar Gharibyan, Kaloust Guedel (Guedelekian), Vachag (Vachik Der-Sarkisian), Samvel Hambardzumyan, Narine Isajanyan, Emil Kazaz, Alina Mnatsakanian, Alexander Sadoyan, Sev (Henrik Khachatryan), Zadik Zadikian, Zareh, and Suren Karapetian.
