Sheri L. Dew Wins Writer's Fellowship Award for Religious Non-Fiction

Salt Lake City, Utah--4-7-03--The American Writer's Fellowship announced today that Sheri L. Dew, author of "No Doubt About It" has been awarded the Quill and Pen Award in the religious non-fiction category.

The book, released by Bookcraft Inc., is Ms. Dew's faith-filled account of what she believes as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and as a woman. In "No Doubt About It" Dew bears powerful testimony of Jesus Christ. She explains her understanding of our individual, unique mission of mortality, reminding us of who we are and who we have always been.

"No Doubt About It" is much more than a look at Christian principles," explains Randy Jernigan, founder and executive director of The American Writers Fellowship awards program. "It's a call to action for good people everywhere. It's a motivational piece that will inspire its readers to move beyond knowing, to doing," said Jernigan. "We're proud to give this award to Ms. Dew for her extraordinary work."

Sheri L. Dew is a native of Ulysses, Kanses, and a graduate of Brigham Young University. She has served as secound counselor in the general Relief Society presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and is current president of Deseret Book Company in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A committee of published authors, literary scholars, and editors chooses recipients of the American Writers Fellowship Quill and Pen Award. There is no application process for the award. The award is given in the categories of: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenplay, new author, and religious non-fiction. Additional award recipients are: Dean Koontz for "One Door Away From Heaven" and Hilda Gurley Highgate for "Sapphire's Grave" both published through Random House.
