San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 11, 2003 -wave duo Agency-X will release its first full-length CD, Mission Impossible, on May 20, 2002. Agency-X consists of two secret agent" band members who have never actually met in person: San Francisco-based singer/songwriter/producer davidmahr (No Drama!, Lost & Found, Only You) and Karlshamn, Sweden-based keyboardist/composer Lars Wallden of the popular Swedish europop group AvantGarde (Certified & Tested, Attic Tapes). After a chance online introduction by a mutual friend, the duo joined forces and delivered their first single, Dont Hold Your Breath," last November.
So how do a gay man in San Francisco and a straight man in Sweden who have never actually met write and produce songs together? In the case of Catch Me," the singer put words to Walldens musical tale of meeting and falling for a woman named Katrin. Love is love," says davidmahr, who also writes the bands lyrics and vocal arrangements. Writing a love song really is about understanding what that particular person is going through, the emotions being felt. I certainly know how happy and goofy I felt when I first fell in love with my partner of 8 years. In fact, the songs on this album speak to so many emotions that are universal – love and happiness, of course, but also fear, insecurity, loss, and finally, hope."
A CD release/listening party for Mission Impossible will be held on Tuesday, May 6th from 8-10pm at The Orbit Room in San Francisco. Guests who register at the event will receive a free copy of the bands single, and guests arrive in secret agent" costume and register will qualify for a free copy of the Mission Impossible CD. A second CD release/listening party, including a short live performance, will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 7-9pm at The Open Book in Sacramento.
