Learn to Paint a Portrait in 6 Hours
Portrait artist Alice Leggett teaches oil portrait painting from a costumed model in 6 hour workshops.
COSTA MESA, CA – Take your skill to the next level! Portrait artist Alice Leggett will be teaching oil portrait painting on the fourth Sundays at South Coast Plaza Village in Santa Ana. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., students will set up their easels and learn to paint from a costumed model. Each artist receives individual attention, as Alice moves around the room to make specific suggestions. Starting with a demonstration, which she works on from time to time during the day, Alice shows how to start the portrait, see the shapes, mix colors, and get a likeness. Her enthusiasm for art is contagious, and everyone enjoys the experience.
The next four workshops are on Sundays, April 27, May 25, June 22, and July 27. The Coastline Community College classroom is at 3851 South Bear Street (Bear and Sunflower). Students can register online at http://www.LeggettPortraits.com and click on Events, or RSVP by e-mail mailto:alice@LeggettPortraits.com , or call 714-540-2557. The cost is $75 for each workshop, including the model fee. A materials list is online or available by request. Since the format is focused on individual attention, artists of all levels can take any or all of the workshops. These workshops are sponsored by Orange County Fine Arts, an Association of Artists.
