London, April 10 2003 - DWP, Denis Wilson Partnership, has completed transportation planning, design and contract supervision for a 2.5 million programme of works for Countryside Properties PLC, at Didsbury Point, South Manchester. The 150 million residential and commercial development includes 385 new homes and apartments, with 275,000 sq ft of business space and a 150-bed hotel and separate restaurant complex.

DWP was initially appointed to advise on transportation planning and highway infrastructure requirements in support of Countryside Properties bid for Didsbury Point, part of the site of the former Withington Hospital.

Following the acquisition by Countryside Properties, DWP was retained for consultancy on transportation planning matters with particular reference to the section 106 agreement, a transport assessment and the green travel plan, together with assisting EDAW in the development of a new masterplan for the site.

DWP was further commissioned to carry out the detailed design and contract supervision of all highway, main drainage, traffic signal control, traffic calming, cycleway and pedestrian facilities elements of the works. Works designed by DWP have received approval under on-going section 106, 278, 38 and 104 agreements with the local authority and water authority respectively.

DWP operates five regional branches – in Bath, Birmingham, Chertsey, Manchester and Leeds - and has a turnover of nearly 6m annually in delivering traffic, transport and infrastructure design services.
