New Lifestyle Magazine Targets the Rising Interests of Blacks in Golf

African-American Golfers Digest Launched to Reach the Games ‘New Demographic

New York, N.Y.-April, 2003-In a time when Tiger Woods is attracting the interests of more minorities to the game of golf, a new magazine, the African-American Golfers Digest (AAGD) ISSN 1541-2741, has launched it first issue.

As the only golf lifestyle magazine published that is geared specifically to African Americans who are interested in the golf lifestyle, the publication will reach a circulation of more than 20,000 readers nationwide. Distribution is by subscription and to African American executives, businesses, programs and events each quarter: April/spring, June/summer, September/fall and December/winter.

The New York City-based publishing company, Event Planners Plus! is headed by President, Debert Cook, CMP who plans to reach golfs growing ‘new demographic with hard-to-find news, information and activities in the soulful world of golf.

Formatted as a 4-color, glossy, 32-page, digest-sized magazine, readers will find interesting editorial, feature stories, profiles, golf tips, a national calendar of events, and advertising. Subscriptions are $18 annually with a cover price of $4.50.

Special features and sections include equipment reviews; course critiques; foundation focus; business/leisure travel; golf destinations; womens round; kids corner and golf etiquette 101. The magazine is designed as an easy read for appeal to golfers who are taking their first swing and the seasoned pro.
