ABERDEEN UNLEASHES A MONSTER - Backup Storage Will No Longer Be a Nightmare

Aberdeen is proud to announce the revolutionary all-inclusive storage and backup hybrid solution, the Aberdeen BlackWatch. This "Backup Monster" can be featured with either an Intel Pentium 4 processor for the cost conscious or dual Intel Xeon processors for those that require the most computing power possible. This beast is the only IDE hot-swap 3U rackmount server on the market that can store up to 2 Terabytes of data and utilize a tape backup drive.

Santa Fe Springs, California - Aberdeen LLC is proud to unveil the revolutionary all-inclusive BlackWatch storage and backup hybrid server solution. This "Backup Monster" can support 2TB (terabytes) of IDE hot-swap disk storage. Aberdeen's BlackWatch storage solutions are designed to provide a range of scalable and cost-efficient backup and storage solutions for a diverse range of shared network environments.

In the past, small business organizations have had few alternatives to ensure flexible data protection solutions and cost efficient centralized control of mission-critical data. Mid-sized organizations with a single facility, utilizing many servers, face a similar challenge in regard to consistent secure backups. The BlackWatch storage solution comes in four models specifically designed to suit the various challenges facing the cost conscious businesses of today.

The prime benefit of the "Backup Monster" server is it provides a hard disk backup solution, which is exponentially faster and more accurate than the traditional tape backup. By utilizing the disk backup feature, routine progressive or full backups can easily be scheduled. BlackWatch servers are compatible with multiple OS platforms for full interoperability in heterogeneous environments.

"Small businesses and mid-level organizations are notoriously vulnerable to the loss of data and have traditionally considered backups as cumbersome inconveniences that are frequently postponed or ignored altogether," says Aberdeen President, Moshe Ovadya. "We have created a virtual 'Backup Monster' by integrating our BlackWatch server with Dantz Development's Retrospect backup software. Businesses can now safely guard against downtime and the loss of critical data with the BlackWatch."

Aberdeen has designed every 3U rackmount BlackWatch model to provide; 8 hot-swap IDE hard disk drive bays, dual Gigabit LAN connections, support for RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 configurations and easy installation and management with minimal impact on network availability. For added security and redundant data backup, the BlackWatch can provide both an optional CD-RW and an optional internal tape drive.

The cost-efficient BlackWatch S38i entry-level backup storage server is equipped with an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor and can handle data security, disaster recovery and file storage sharing needs by running Retrospect software. To accommodate the multi-faceted backup needs of larger companies, the dual Intel® Xeon processor based BlackWatch X38i is available. Every configuration includes a storage capacity of up to 2TB and combines the Retrospect software for secure data backup at a cost less that any other SCSI or NAS applications.

Availability and Support:
The entry-level BlackWatch S38i and the BlackWatch X38i models are currently shipping and can be configured via the Aberdeen Web site (www.aberdeeninc.com) or by contacting a sales executive at (800)552-6868. The ultra fast SATA hard drive versions of the BlackWatch "Backup Monster" storage solution, the S38sa and the X38sa, are scheduled to ship through the same channels in Q2, 2003. Aberdeen currently offers an industry leading 5-year limited warranty and a free 10-day trial assessment program with all of its branded server solutions.
