Naperville, IL April 22, 2003 –Wizdom Education, a premier provider of Special Education IEP and Transition Planning software, presented a session titled The Transition Planning Process – Meeting the Needs of Students, Teachers and Parents Through Web-based Technology" during the Connections Conference at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL, April 15th, in the Rembrandt Room to an enthusiastic audience.

The annual Connections Conference, which is supported with funding from the Illinois State Board of Education, provides technical assistance and professional development for educators across Illinois regarding the planning, development, implementation and assessment of Education-to-Careers and Tech Prep programs.

Case Managers and Administrators are grinding through the issues of Transition Planning, trying to help students figure out complex life questions," says Dennis E. Wisnosky, Wizdom Founder, who will moderate the session along with Philip J. Vitkus. Web-based technology can offer a guided yet personal road-map for these tough decisions."

Wizdoms Transition Planning Process session showed how web-based technology can:

·   help students (and their parents) recognize and deal with the issues of, "What do I want to do?" "Where do I want to live?" "What do I want to do in my free time?" (the latter issue includes - "How do I want to be involved in my community?")

·   set up practical multi-year transition plans that help students meet their goals.

·   cut the time required to research the important local 15-25 community service providers, and yet appropriately connect to the providers as needed.

·   through Wizdom EducationLive! (www.educationlive) automatically connect case managers, students and parents to community service providers with an assurance that the school district has the most current information about the service providers available.

·   meet the needs of students, parents, and schools' obligations, without an undue burden on already time-challenged case managers and vocational coordinators.
