The Summit, held once a year in New York City, (www.globalentertainmentnetwork.com) is coming to Dallas to inspire, empower and motivate the independent music and film communities by providing them with access to leading industry executives and visionaries who will provide them with information pertinent to their careers.

Focusing on new and innovative ways to market, promote and develop careers in a time of industry consolidation, the Summit will feature two days of highly productive music and film panels and seminars and keynotes, cutting edge products and service demonstrations; live music and film screenings and a large trade show floor promoting industry sponsors and vendors.

"After coming to Dallas to look at the scene, Ive determined that the area has an important scene which needs to be cultivated," says Summit Producer Steve Zuckerman." "While weve had tremendously successful shows in New York City, I felt it important to provide the same type of show in Dallas that we did in New York. Its an exciting time for the independently thinking artist."

Some of the keynotes and participants at the New York events have included Danny Goldberg, President of Artemis Records and former manager of Nirvana and Bonnie Raitt; Lee Abrams of XM Satellite Radio; Chuck D of the group Public Enemy; Robert Fripp; Ice-T, Filmmakers John Waters and Demian Lichtenstein; with seminars and panel discussions that provide the audience with empowering information that motivates them to maintain creative control of their careers.

Quoting Scher (who keynoted the 2002 Summit in New York) "At a time of considerable consolidation in the media and in the touring industries, it is important that the music industry re-invents itself in order to have a solid foundation as it once did."
