MOVE OVER GODSPELL" & JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR"…BISCUITHANDS" IS IN THE HOUSE!

For years, the only two attempts to put the 4 Gospels of the New Testament to music has been "Godspell" and "Jesus Christ Superstar." However, so much time has gone by since their conception, it is simply time for a new one. And, that new kid on the block is, BiscuitHands."

For years, different Directors have told the same story in a variety of ways. The most colorful being the music-based two, Godspell" and Jesus Christ Superstar (JCS)." While these two musicals held their own, in their own way…the music itself appealed mostly to people who liked that particular type of music.

For instance, JCS was a no-dialog script based on Hard & Soft Rock. Perhaps, the type of music had something to do with the rebellion against established authority" element of the story. Regardless, while I am not a big fan of such music in general, I did enjoy the show. That is, after it had been around for a good seven years.

The approach of Godspell was one of humor, in the cast and dialog, as well as the music. As a young teen, I just happen to be sitting in front of the tv the evening it debuted. I had never heard of it before that but I did enjoy. However, in reflection, I would imagine there were those millions who did not appreciate having seen Jesus Christ portrayed by Ronald McDonald.

Not to imply any form of competition to these two great works of art, BiscuitHands" is now in the House! Only in an attempt to join the musical ranks of Godspell and JCS. Its the same story. However, this time, told in a series of 25 very catchy original tunes comprised of Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, Rock…and a little Classical for all ages to enjoy. And, like JCS, there is no spoke dialog.

Since a new musical, written by an unknown (to the music world) Composer, wont get out of the garage without huge financial backing, BiscuitHands is making its debut in an animated form pressed on DVD. The proceeds from the BiscuitHands DVD will finance BiscuitHands, the live-stage musical." This, will hopefully move on to tv/movie form, both live and animated.

While I personally do not feel there is anything wrong with Godspell & JCS, so much time has gone by since their conception, it is simply time for a new one. And, that new kid on the block is, BiscuitHands."
