Cloudburst Syndicated Poetry inaugurates service to print media
Author Randal Matheny writes a syndicated poetry feature for newspapers and magazines. Cloudburst Poetry is a quick, full take on the world, given in language acessible to general readers.
Space is precious, and writers must make every word count. With that in mind, author Randal Matheny inagurated in March a syndicated poetry feature for newspapers and magazines.
Cloudburst Poetry is a quick, full take on the world, given in language acessible to general readers.
"Much of today's poetry appeals to a small segment of readers," Matheny stated. "Most people enjoy poetry, but it has to be poetry they can understand and appreciate. Experimental stuff isn't for general audiences."
Matheny closes the gap with poems of rhyme and meter without sappiness or sing-song sentimentalism. His works use 7-14 lines to address current events, as well personal and spiritual perspectives. His experience in Latin America brings an international flavor to his writings.
"In our sound-bite, Internet world, an economy of words with good form and content makes people stop for a moment to consider life as it is and as it should be, rather than merely scanning the news and rushing through their day -- and their life," Matheny said.
The author has written poetry and articles for numerous print magazines as well as webzines. He was a columnist and editor-at-large for The Morrock News Magazine. An American expatriate, author, and editor, he has lived in Brazil since 1984 with his wife, with whom he has three children.
Poems are delivered each Thursday by email. An effort is made to avoid regional or readership overlap. Rates depend upon circulation, and not-for-profit publications may sign up for free.
Individuals may also subscribe to the email list for personal use by sending any email to cloudburst-subscribe@topica.com .
