Support US Troops With Service Flags, Banners and Streamers

Family and friends are looking for ways to show their support of troops. They can purchase military flags, service banners and streamers with blue or gold stars to show support of US service personnel from Sayre Enterprises (www.servicepride.com or www.sayreinc.com).

In support of US troops, people are tying yellow ribbons around trees in their yards, putting candles in their windows and holding prayer vigils. They are also looking for other ways to publicly exhibit their support of our troops and their family members, according to Catherine Roy, direct marketing manager at Sayre Enterprises in Buena Vista, Va.

One way to do this is to display flags and service banners with gold or blue stars on them. Since World War I, citizens have displayed the service banner to show how proud they are of their family members service in the United States Military. A blue star signifies a family member is currently serving in or retired from the Armed Forces of the United States. A yellow star indicates a family member gave his or her life while on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability.

Since the recent troop deployment, people are calling from all over the US, asking if we have service banners and flags with blue or gold stars on them," said Roy. Most want to show their patriotic support of relatives and friends currently in the military, but others are proudly displaying these mementos as recognition for their own or a relatives service in past war-time efforts. We are happy to tell them we have these items."

Sayre Enterprises offers a complete line of quality, American-made U.S. and military branch flags, flagpoles and brackets, decals, lapel pins, banners and streamers under its Service-Pride® product line. Flags and lapel pins are made to U.S. Department of Heraldry specifications, and prices range from as little as $3.50 to just $20.

The flagpole streamer is designed to hang beneath the U.S., state or military branch flags, or it can hang by itself in a commemorative-type setting. It is a more personal way to display your support for a family member," said Roy, and a portion of the proceeds on flagpole streamers is donated to the National D-Day Foundation."

All Service-Pride® products can be purchased by calling toll free 1-800-552-6064 EXT 222 weekdays, 9 am-5 pm EDT, or online anytime at www.servicepride.com. A 10 percent discount applies to all online orders.

Sayre Enterprises (www.sayreinc.com) grew from a single product, conceived by a soldier to solve a simple need. Before the TABS boot blouser, GI s held their trousers in their boots with comfortable bands of thin elastic under the arch of the foot. By sewing Velcro on wide, flat elastic, entrepreneur Scott Sayre created a small garage industry while still serving in the Army. Upon leaving the military, Sayres company grew, adding a full line of tactical and outdoor gear for the military and retail marketplace. In 1999, the company moved into a 30,000-square-foot facility that houses its sewing, embroidery and screen-printing operations. It now boasts 110 employees, with offices in Buena Vista, Fishersville, Virginia Beach and Hayes, Va. For more information, contact Catherine Roy at 1-800-552-6064, ext. 222 or croy@sayreinc.com.
