Balkan Music Concert to Aid Orphans and Refugee Children

NEW YORK--A benefit concert of Balkan music, including a group of Americans who play Serbian music will be held at 7 PM on Saturday May 3rd at St. Sava Cathedral at 15 W 25th St in New York City. The concert will benefit war orphans and children of refugees.

We are pleased to announce the participation of ‘Zlatne Uste in our Easter Hope Program," says Lana Todorovic of the Circle of Hope Foundation. Zlatne Uste is an internationally known group of American-born musicians playing traditional Serbian music. Three-time invited guest at the Dragacevo Brass Festival in Gucha, Serbia, the 12 piece band is among the foremost presenters of traditional Balkan dance music in the United States. This will be their first performance at St.Sava Cathedrals Hall.

Other performers will include the St.Sava choir, Aleksandra Cvetkovic-violin, Milos Raickovich-piano, Maja Klicic-Greenwald -piano and vocals, Rastko Dance group, Janko Radosavljevic jazz guitar, among others. We ask the public to join us for an evening of fun this Saturday May 3rd - all proceeds will benefit war-orphans and refugee children in Serbia, says Todorovic.

Todorovic, an executive of Speedo and her husband Jovan, who has a well know hairdressing Manhattan business recently were the subject of a recent feature by Danas newspaper in Serbia which followed a recent visit with orphans and refugee children at a special outing to a Belgrade childrens theater. In addition to raising money for education and other necessities, the Todorovics try to spend as much personal time with the beneficiaries.
