Shipley Company Supports Scholarships for Camp Invention

Shipley Company, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), today announced that it will support scholarship funding for Camp Invention®, a national, hands-on science and creativity day camp for elementary school children. Shipley will provide funding for twelve children, grades second through sixth, to attend Camp Invention at the Marlborough Intermediate Elementary School July 14-18, 2003.

Marlborough, MA (PRWEB) May 1, 2003 - Shipley Company, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), today announced that it will support scholarship funding for Camp Invention®, a national, hands-on science and creativity day camp for elementary school children. Shipley will provide funding for twelve children, grades second through sixth, to attend Camp Invention at the Marlborough Intermediate Elementary School July 14-18, 2003.

Camp Invention provides an interactive curriculum for elementary school children designed to inspire interest and aptitude in science, math, history and the arts. Children participate daily in five inventive modules, which includes exercises that require disassembling machinery and using these parts to make new inventions, building a command center to make contact with outer space, and studying and replicating ancient cultures.

In addition to the Marlborough Camp Invention, area locations and dates include: Abby Kelley Foster Charter School in Worcester (July 7-11), the Douglas School in Acton (July 28-August 1), the Alcott School in Concord (July 7-11) and the Wayland Middle School in Wayland (July 28-August 1). Other schools throughout Massachusetts will also host Camp Invention this summer.
