New Service Allows Expectant Parents to Leisurely Watch Their Unborn Baby – and the Expectant Mother Relaxes with a Massage!

A unique fetal imaging center has opened in Kansas City, Missouri. The relaxed, quiet and unhurried environment gives the expectant parents time to enjoy watching their unborn baby, using the latest technology in color 3D, real time (4D) and 2D imaging. The parents leave with a preliminary report for their doctor, 2D black & white images, color 3D images and a recording of their experience. The centers physician will send the final report to the managing physician following review. To complement the experience, the mother-to-be can enjoy a stress-reducing massage.

The founder, Jeanette Burlbaw BS RDMS, has been a perinatal sonographer for 25 years. As a hospital employee, she watched the patients examination time shrink to such a point that the true joy of seeing ones baby had been taken away. Thats where she got the idea. In Burlbaws imaging center, the patient and family have time to relax and enjoy seeing their unborn baby. The atmosphere allows them to laugh, talk and discuss what they see, yet the diagnostic purpose of the modality is not forgotten.

To enhance the commitment to their patients the center has added the services of Debbie Mallin, Perinatal massage therapist. Massage during pregnancy creates a sense of inner peace and harmony with a combination of relaxing and therapeutic bodywork, along with instruction in structural release poses that reduce stress and soften tissue restriction. In the postpartum period special attention is given to restoring
the tonicity and strengthen the pelvic floor, abdominals, and uterus. Classes on Tai Chi with baby and infant massages are offered to nurture safe touch and create a healthy, loving bond.

The center is fee for service. Insurance is not accepted. To find out more about the staff and services offered at Prenatal Imaging Centers, LLC go to http://www.prenatalimaging.com or call 816-741-5300.
