'THE ANCHOR WAR: AN EXCITING NEW NOVEL ABOUT TV NEWS, LOVE & WAR

Just Published! A book about a three-way battle for a $2.5-million-a-year anchor job as war rages in Iraq in 1991. Its funny, thought-provoking and a good read!

The Anchor War, a new novel by John Westin, tells the comic and gripping story of a three-way fight for a $2.5-million-a-year television anchor job as the first war on Iraq begins in 1991.
After legendary network anchorman Harrison Kiser is murdered by his mistress as millions watch on television, the battle begins for his fabulous job. The combatants:
David Sheldon, the networks handsome, sophisticated and ambitious correspondent in Tokyo. His wife thinks he loves the network more than he loves her. She may be right.
Frank West, chief correspondent for the networks primetime news magazine, Perspective". West is rugged, aggressive and independent. His love life is a mess. He dates a fetching woman who already has a possessive boyfriend.
Marilyn Rhodes, chief Moscow correspondent. She flies to New York and demands a shot at the job. She gets her chance to show what she can do on the networks morning show, but quickly discovers she is stuck in the quicksand of sleazy journalism and office politics.
It is a no-holds battle for the anchor job—complete with scandals, sex, a bombing, a murder mystery and confrontations over the morality of the war.
The Anchor War, published by Writers Club Press, can be ordered through bookstores or their web sites. It is $16.95 in paperback or $26.95 in hardcover.
John Westin, a former newspaperman, also has written a humorous action novel, Stealing the White House.
