City Commission Confirms Cumbie to KUA Board
Attorney Fred H. Cumbie, Jr. to serve five-year term, beginning October 2003.
KISSIMMEE, Fla., June 4, 8:30 am -- At Tuesday's meeting of the Kissimmee City Commission, the commission voted to confirm the appointment of Fred H. Cumbie, Jr. to serve on the Board of Directors of Kissimmee Utility Authority.
Cumbie, 1875 Saha Court, is president of the law firm Overstreet Miles Ritch & Cumbie, P.A. He holds degrees from Florida State University College of Law and the University of South Florida. Cumbie is a 23-year resident of Osceola County and past president of the Osceola County Council on Aging, Inc.
The utility's board of directors sets policy direction for the utility. Specifically, the board approves annual budgets, sets rates and approves major purchases. The board also directs a general manager who is responsible for day-to-day operations of the utility.
Cumbie will be sworn in at the Board's October meeting and serve until September 30, 2008.
KUA is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility serving 58,000 electric, water and internet customers in five Central Florida counties.
