Abels Hosts All Day Music Celebration
Grayslake Music Celebration attracts Blues, Rockabilly, and Jazz enthusiasts.
GRAYSLAKE — Abel's Pizza & Mexican Food in Lake County Chicago suburb of Grayslake, IL served as the host for an all-day free music festival on Saturday, May 31.
The event featured dual headlining acts: King Robinson and the Housewreckers and The Bruce Williams Orchestra. Throughout the day there were also live Blues Jam sessions, jazz trio performances, a lounge singer, vocalist Tommy Two Times, and a local rock band featuring students from Grayslake High School.
Closing out the festivities was a special guest appearance by Rockabilly recording artist and Tony n Tinas Wedding star Rikki Lee Travolta performing his hit single ‘Jail House Rock Blues from the album Hero's Lullaby.
Local musicians appearing at the event included Jeff Blum, Skip Joyce, Mike Landers, King Robinson, Bruce Williams, and Marty Willis.
King Robinson and the Housewreckers appear every Wednesday from 7:30 - 11:00 PM at AJs Horse Around Lounge, 114 West Washington Street, Round Lake Park as a part of a free midweek Blues Jam. Call (847) 546-3314.
