East Meadow, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2003 -- Med Cards, Inc. announced today that the company is providing free safety seminars to seniors. The presentations will be aimed at showing seniors how to identify hazards lurking in their home that may cause falls or fires. The seminars will be offered throughout the summer at Long Island senior centers.

Med Cards president and founder, Vivian Agrusa, says the program was developed because of her years of experience as an emergency room nurse. The majority of elderly patients we see in the emergency room are there because of a fall in the home. Many of these accidents can be prevented by keeping the home safe." She added that hip fractures, the most common injury, can be severely debilitating and life altering.

The seminars are taught by Med Cards healthcare professionals, which include both registered nurses and certified emergency medical technicians. As emergency medical providers, weve been seeing the causes and results of accidents in the home for years. We consider ourselves experts in the field," explains Agrusa.

After the presentation, Med Cards gives attendees the opportunity to purchase their product. Agrusa describes Med Cards as Plastic, durable, computer printed cards that provide all a patients vital medical information." A problem the company has faced is that many elderly customers are not sure how to fill out the application properly. At the seminars, representatives are on hand to personally assist seniors. Med Cards that are incomplete may not provide healthcare workers all the information necessary to treat a patient as effectively.

To schedule a Safety Seminar, or to find out more about Med Cards, contact Vivian Agrusa at 516-539-1218 or visit their website at http://www.medcardsinc.com.
