PIECES features original monologues which all deal with themes uniquely common to the physically blessed female, from the perks and the privileges to the problems and the pressures. These pieces aim to go beneath the beautiful façade and examine the concept of "hot chick angst." More than just a stage show, PIECES is a complete evening, with live female DJÂs, short films, and a pre- and post-show cocktail lounge  all of these elements are combined to create a party atmosphere at this Greenwich Village landmark venue, which New York Magazine calls one of its ÂFavorite Off-Broadway Theatres.Â
ÂThis show is empowering to women, and enlightening to men in two areas that generally cause them great consternation  beautiful women and going to the theatre, says PIECES director Brian Howie. Howie conceived the show based on his own experiences and frustrations on both accounts. ÂWhy is it that every group has had their say on the stage other than those who may actually have the most interesting stories to tell  and who look great telling them? We have heard what society has to say about beautiful women, itÂs time to hear what beautiful women have to say about society, and their place in it. ÂHot chick angst is a real phenomenon, as this show will demonstrate.Â
