Where is Saddam Hussein? Hilarious New Song Answers Timely Question!
Three months after the invasion of Iraq, there is still speculation about whether Saddam Hussein is alive or dead. In south Florida, David Citron and Gary Lawrence have recorded a crazy but very timely song, Saddam, The Pig Who Never Returned, to humorously answer that musical question.
Three months after the invasion of Iraq, there is still speculation about whether Saddam Hussein is alive or dead. Was he killed by the mother of all bombs in Baghdad? Or is he still hanging out in a French restaurant? What about those Baghdad subways?
Bandleader Gary Lawrence and tech writer David Citron have collaborated to record a crazy new song, Saddam, The Pig Who Never Returned. It's a parody of another subway-related song that the Kingston Trio made famous, MTA.
In a style reminiscent of both Allan Sherman and the Smothers Brothers, David and Gary take shots at politicians, Hollywood celebrities, CNN, UN inspectors, public transportation, Jeffrey Dahmer, and, of course, Saddam and his sons.
Citron reminds people that buying this CD is good for the economy. The CD's label says "PLEASE! don't copy or upload this CD! Proceeds from the sale of this CD will help feed one starving writer and one starving musician! Instead of copying, please buy lots of CDs for your friends to help us AND the American economy! Go to www.GLPMUSIC.com. Thank you!"
Also on this CD is a bonus track, The Who To Vote For List, written and performed by David Citron at the Yellow Feathers comedy show, a charity fund-raising comedy show in October 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Who To Vote For List is a parody of Gilbert and Sullivan's I've Got A Little List, from their operetta H.M.S. Pinafore. It's Citron's commentary on the candidate lists condo commandos circulate to voters before every election.
