London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) June 26, 2003 - Life-rings are a symbol of eternal friendship. They signify a deep belief in the continuing connection between two people. We all hold the individual beauty of our life stories in our hands. A life ring is a unique, wearable sculpture of your partners life story. The rings feature an unbroken imprint of your partners heart line, life line or head line, finished in the precious metal of your choice made to your specification by Cameron Fraser, a professional artist.
Faced with the daunting task of choosing an engagement ring I decided to try and make my own using a simple but irresistibly romantic idea which suited the occasion. After looking at a seemingly endless amount of mass produced rings, I began thinking about making my own using the marks on my hand as the starting point for a design. After numerous trials the finished pieces feature my heart line for an engagement ring and my life line for the wedding ring. After I proposed I made two rings from my partner Sophies heart and life line for myself. People who saw the rings and learnt their significance thought it was a great idea. It was through their positive response that we decided to make a business out of making the life-rings. Fraser Life-rings are available for order today ranging in price from approximately 400 - 1800 depending on the choice and weight of metal just email info@fraserliferings.com for a personal quote. A special part of these rings is their universal appeal, they have no boundaries as to who can wear them, they are for anyone who wishes to have something of their partner close at all times. During World War II it became a regular custom of men to wear rings as a reminder of their wives back home. These rings have that sentiment, not only as a reminder but have as their design an actual imprint of your partners life story. Another snippet of history dates back to both the Egyptians and Romans who wore bands on their fourth finger on the left hand because they believed the vena amoris, or love vein, connected directly from that finger to the heart, thereby joining a couples destiny. While technology is about mass production and smoothing out the wrinkles the life-ring is about individuality and revelling in our differences. The imperfect surface of the rings is a deliberate and important part of their symbolism, a reflection of humanity; life isnt perfect, but it is this imperfection that gives us our life stories.
