Oprah Winfrey provides inspiration for owner of new UK PR company
New PR company in the UK opens as virtual press office for sole traders and owner-managers of small and medium-sized enterprises
(PRWEB) July, 2003 -- Are you a sole trader or a busy owner manager of a small business? Often wondered how to get the right sort of attention from the press but dont have time to organise your public relations ?
On release from her former post as a press officer in the criminal justice field, ex-journalist and law graduate Caroline Lashley took her inspiration from Americas Oprah Winfrey to launch her online public relations company, The Editors Office, based in London, UK to help sole traders and busy small business managers get the press interested in their products and services.
For Caroline Lashey, the driving force behind The Editors Office, Oprah Winfrey is the best example of how from small beginnings anything is possible. Caroline said: I really admired the way Oprah really stuck to her dream when a woman runs a company the size of Harpo, shes definitely her own woman.
The elevator pitch" for The Editors Office is a virtual press office aimed at startup companies at affordable prices. Said Caroline: When I originally began researching this idea, there didnt seem to be that many virtual companies doing press relations for this particular market. But at networking events, I knew I had a good idea when the one question I was asked repeatedly was Are you up and running yet? Unfortunately at that time, I wasnt able to capitalise on that level of interest."
Before launching The Editors Office, Caroline Lashley armed with determination and ambition spent a considerable amount of time and effort in researching the market and honing her skills which include journalism, photography and internet research. Other courses Caroline took in setting up her company were web design, desktop publishing and those run by the Inland Revenue.
Although The Editors Office has only started trading recently, it has two sole-trader companies on its books IT recruitment company Alatron Ltd, and Strictly Business, a training consultancy running business seminars for ethnic minorities.
Carolines plans for the future feature expansion into other areas of the media. She said: I hope The Editors Office expands to include areas such as e-publishing, films and videos, even programming for radio and television in fact, anything that can be edited, that will come under The Editors Offices umbrella!"
The Editors Office is a virtual press office for sole traders and owner-managers of SMEs and is run by Caroline Lashley. Contact details are listed below:
