Q Comm International, Inc. (AMEX: QMM; QMM.U), a provider of prepaid transaction processing and electronic point-of-sale (POS) distribution solutions, today announced that it has placed an order with its manufacturer to begin production of 5,000 new Qxpress 200 units, the Companys proprietary point-of-sale activation (POSA) terminal.
Orem, UT (PRWEB) July 3, 2003 -of-sale (POS) distribution solutions, today announced that it has placed an order with its manufacturer to begin production of 5,000 new Qxpress 200 units, the Companys proprietary point-of-sale activation (POSA) terminal.
Q Comm expects to start taking delivery of the newly ordered units in September 2003 and subsequently initiate deployment of the units to key distribution points immediately thereafter.
With our public offering completed, Q Comm can now focus on addressing the domestic and international demand for our products and services," said Paul Hickey, chief executive officer of Q Comm International. Full deployment of these 5,000 units will more than double the number of Qxpress 200 terminals in operation."
Qxpress 200 POSA terminals are about the size of standard credit card terminals and are installed in retail locations around the world. In combination with Q Comms transaction processing center (TPC), the Qxpress terminals enable service providers, such as wireless carriers, and their distributors to electronically distribute their prepaid airtime to retail points of sale. This replaces traditional hard cards (also known as scratch cards or vouchers), which are costly to distribute. Q Comms prepaid TPC and POSA technologies also provide more comprehensive reporting and inventory management among other benefits.
