ACCLAIMED AISLING ARTS ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE AT THE UNDERCROFT MARKING THEIR THIRD YEAR OF FREE SUMMER SHAKESPEARE IN ASTORIA JULY 17-26, 2003!
The King of Navarre and three fellow scholars swear off women in the pursuit of enlightenment. At the moment their oaths are passed, the Princess of France and her three ladies-in-waiting are approaching his court on official business. Will their dedication to their books be enough to keep four young men away from the temptation of love?
Four men, four women, one serious promise, one huge temptation. What could possibly go wrong?

(PRWEB) July 2003 - Irreverent and innovative, the Aisling Arts ensemble is gaining momentum as one of the most physically adept, creatively daring theater companies in New York City. Using ensemble techniques to tap into the original spirit of classical texts, the company's work is as joyously eclectic as it is fiercely intense and disciplined. Before embarking on an extensive tour, the company will perform LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST at the Undercroft in Astoria where they are continuing their third year of residence.
LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST tells the story of four men who make a solemn oath to study for three years and, in an intellectual frenzy, agree to deprive themselves of all worldly pleasures during their studies. No delicious food, no comfortable rest, and most importantly, no women. No sooner do the men take their oaths, than the young, beautiful Princess of France and her entourage arrive at Court on a mission from her ailing father. The men immediately fall in love with the visitors, testing the worth of their vows and their commitment to their honor. Rather than being caught breaking his vow, each man tries desperately to secretly woo his lady. The ladies, however have something else in mind all together!
Every summer, Aisling Arts, Inc. sponsors The Free Shakespeare Project which began as a grass roots initiative in 1999 to bring free performances of Shakespearean plays to communities with underdeveloped arts scenes in New England. The company will perform for two weeks in Astoria before leaving to tour the play extensively in Massachusetts.
Please do not hesitate to contact Bryn Manion or Wendy Remington, producers of THE FREE SHAKESPEARE PROJECT to schedule an interview with them or members of the ensemble. Please expect a full press packet with bio, photos, and more detailed information to follow this press release.
We look forward to working with area press to enhance attendance and awareness of this exciting theater event. Thank you.
THE FREE SHAKESPEARE PROJECT is supported in part by grants from the Local Cultural Councils in Everett, Fall River, Haverhill, Holyoke, Lynn, and Westfield, local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
AISLING ARTS, INC. IS A NON-PROFIT THEATER COMPANY IN RESIDENCE AT THE UNDERCROFT IN ASTORIA, QUEENS.
