Dakah Brings Symphonic Hip Hop ALIVE!

LA based Hip Hop Orchestra - Dakah teams up with KUFALA Recordings to release a 2 CD set of their performance July 5th, 2003.

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) July 3, 2003 - Los Angeles phenomenon, Dakah - the worlds largest Hip Hop Orchestra - will be performing, recording and immediately releasing a live album of their performance Saturday July 5th at California Plaza in downtown LA. In partnership with Kufala Recordings and Grand Performances, Dakah will release a complete 2-CD set of the evenings concert that will be delivered to fans within days of the show. Dakah - Live in Los Angeles 07.05.03" will be available for pre-order during the show at California Plaza, online at the band and labels websites and at fine local independent retailers. A portion of all proceeds from the recording will be donated to Grand Performances, a non-profit music presenter that provides the Los Angeles community with free arts programs.

Dakah is a 58 piece hip hop orchestra" whose funky, symphonic hip hop arrangements and legendary live shows have won them a loyal following and critics praise the past 3 years. Having played to sold-out audiences around Los Angeles since their inception in 1999, Dakahs live recording on Kufala represents the groups first commercially available release. Ever-growing in both music and membership, the current line up includes full string, brass, woodwind and percussion sections intermingled with MCs, DJs and even a full-time sitar player.

Under the creative influence of their conductor/composer/mad scientist Geoffrey Double G" Gallegos, Dakah will be unveiling both a new lineup and new compositions. Dakah reaches across all the cultures of music from Symphonic to Hip Hop to Latin. We also reach across all the cultures of Los Angeles from Hip Hop fans to Orchestral fans. For one evening, with some of the best musicians of our generation on stage, we will bring symphonic hip hop ALIVE for all to hear free of charge.
