The Golden Gate Wind Quintet was formed in 2002 and has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Comprised of flute (Jeffery Pelletier), oboe (Ivan Aladjoff), clarinet (Leslie Tagorda), French horn (Everett Doner) and bassoon (Scott Posey), woodwind quintet music combines versatility, scintillating sounds and unique instrumentation to create a very captivating texture.
Our special guest pianist David Christensen lives in San Francisco, where he performs chamber music and solo recitals. Last year, with writer Julie Novak-McSweeney, he arranged and performed Prokofiev's Visions Fugitives as a monodrama for piano and reader, featuring the poetry of Anna Akhmatova. David earned a Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and studied musicology at Columbia University.
The Golden Gate Woodwind Quintet will be performing a world premiere composition/commission by composer Sy Brandon later this year. Please visit www.ggwq.org for updates on this exciting event!
