Emergency Preparedness Training for People With Disabilities Available

To ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency preparedness plans, Inclusion Research Institute (IRI) has created the Disability Preparedness Center and offers training options, programs and seminars to assist organizations in developing comprehensive programs that address disability-related issues.

(PRWEB) July 17, 2003 -- To ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency preparedness plans, Inclusion Research Institute (IRI) has created the Disability Preparedness Center and offers training options, programs and seminars to assist organizations in developing comprehensive programs that address disability-related issues.

Emergency preparedness plans are not just important but are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The training options presented by IRI range from an Emergency Preparedness Planning Kit which assists planning teams with the process of adapting current emergency plans to include people with disabilities to one and two hour, half-day and full-day seminars.

Training simulations designed to evaluate how well your organization would implement a disaster response strategy to incorporate the needs of individuals with disabilities and on-site technical assistance allowing your emergency preparedness team to openly debate, discuss, decide and evaluate appropriate actions and issues are also available.

For information, scheduling and fees for these seminars and workshops visit the website at www.disabilitypreparedness.org or contact Carl T. Cameron at 202.338.7158x201 or NDPC@inclusioninc.com.
