Seven Local Authors Give Book Proceeds To Help Oregon Schools

Seven local authors are giving back to Portlands school districts by donating one dollar of every book they sell through 2003 to Oregon schools.

The Buck-A-Book Challenge," as named by Mark Paul, founder of the Challenge and author of the Entrepreneurs Survival Guide, was created as a way to give back to the community. Through the program, when one of the authors books are bought online through a special website set up for the challenge, a dollar will be set aside for the school district of the authors choice.

In January, each author will sign over a check to the school district they have selected, based on total sales from the Buck-A-Book Challenge.

This is a great way to tackle two problems at once! Besides a direct boost to public school funding, the books we have chosen for the challenge will help local companies perform better, therefore being in a better position to hire, reducing unemployment," said Paul.

Authors participating in the challenge include:

Mark Paul, The Entrepreneurs Survival Guide"
Sally Peterson, The Real American Dream"
Dr. Fred Phillips, The Conscious Manager"
Susan Frost, Blueprint for Marketing"
Jerry Fletcher, Cheryl Matschek, Al Siebert, and Gail Tycer, Gathering Wisdom: How to Acquire Wisdom From Others While Developing Your Own."
Pam Gross & Peter Paskill, Want a New Better Fantastic Job?"
Ted Newton, Great Games for Golf"
