What Can Online Radios Provide More Than Terrestrial Radios

Terrestrial or local radios play to you the same songs all over again and again day after day; it happens often that you have to listen to horrible tracks just because you don't have a choice... Here comes Online Radios, but what do they offer?

(PRWEB) July 20, 2003 -- This is not a new subject but sometimes people tend to minimize the role of online radios or 'internet only' radios.

Terrestrial or local radios play to you the same songs all over again and again day after day; it happens often that you have to listen to horrible tracks just because you don't have a choice... except for playing one of your favourite old-time CDs. Most of the tracks you hear come from the US or the UK market; how about the tracks from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Brazil... so many excellent Pop, Dance, Rock or other tracks that you might never hear of.

Here comes Online Radios, but what do they offer?
There is a difference to make between online "for-profit" radios and online "non-profit" radios. Both of them can provide you with great quality programs, but "non-profit" radios are ones that are not tied up to Label companies and are not waiting for these companies to pay them in order to diffuse the songs they produce.

Many of Online Radios offer the same or alike programs as the ones you hear on your local radio(s). However, there are so many that are specialized in:
- tracks from the 80s (Generation 80s Retro: http://javajanesworld.com/Playlist.htm)
- tracks from the 70s (STATION6070S...60s&70s: http://www.station6070s.com/)
- Electronic Music or Heavy Metal
- Mediterranean Dance Music (Beirut Nights: http://www.beirutnights.com)

and some others offer a variety of excellent tracks (Pop, Dance, Rock, R&B) coming from many different countries all on one radio. This is the case of a Live365 broadcaster: STAR RADIO http://www.star-radio.net/ created in March 2003. A highly attractive website with many possibilities for listening to its stream (Live365 Player -recommended, RealOne Player, WinAmp...). The name is confusing though as there are many radios in different countries called by the same name. This is an Internet Only Radio playing all the latest hits from all around the world (mainly in English but also in French, Spanish and Italian). It also has an International TOP 40 and more interesting music related stuff to offer.

With such variety, I believe that Online Radios are on the right track and will be more popular as broadband spreads to more and more homes.

Enjoy the Music
