HBO Series THE WIRE" Moves to 9:30 PM on Sundays

See who gets caught in the powerful pull as Episode 18 premieres Sunday June 29 at a 9:30pm ET on HBO. Episode replays Mondays on HBO2 at 11pm ET and on HBO on Demand.

Washington, D.C. – June 23 2003 – Home Box Office (HBO) moves the original hit series THE WIRE" to Sundays at 9:30 pm ET. The new time slot begins this week with episode 18 and returns Tray Chaney as supporting actor Poot", a member of the dealers" who climbs the criminal hierarchy.

Moving from 10pm to 9:30 pm, the critically acclaimed series has expanded to include the familiar drug dealers, along with longshoreman and organized crime members who become caught up in a case on the Baltimore waterfront.

This weeks episode debuts Chaneys character, Poot", promoted in the pit, taking orders directly from the boss, Stringer Bell" and stepped up to manage more of the business.

Im very excited about the development of my character (Poot). Although hes still a ladies man, Poot is stepping up his game with his new found status among the dealers," states Chaney, a local resident of the Maryland/Washington DC area.

The Wire" debuted last year as HBOs hard-edged cop series that provided viewers with a parallel look into the worlds of law enforcement and drug dealers. Unlike conventional cop shows, The Wire" uncovers remarkable similarities between police narcotics operations and drug dealer camps.

The Wire" was created by David Simon, executive produced by David Simon and Robert F. Colesberry, and produced by Nina Kostroff. The hit series is the latest from HBO, whose recent track record includes dramas such as "The Sopranos," "Band of Brothers" and "Six Feet Under".

Home Box Office (HBO), a division of Warner Brothers Television, is now part of Time Warner Entertainment Company, LP.
