MobileWebSurf Expands Company Boards
Technology veterens David Hightower and Amar Gupta add industry knowledge and strategic vision to mobile application infrastructure company
Fremont, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2003 - MobileWebSurf, a leading provider of mobile application infrastructure solutions, today announced the appointments of David Hightower to its Board of Directors and Amar Gupta, Ph.D. to its Advisory Board. The two industry mainstays add a combined 45 years of high-tech and business expertise to the company.
Dr. Amar Gupta has been at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 1979. He is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Productivity from Information Technology (PROFIT) Initiative at the MIT Sloan School of Management. In addition, he manages development projects sponsored by prestigious commercial organizations and government agencies.
Dr. Gupta has served as an advisor to several UN organizations including WHO, UNDP, and UNIDO on various aspects of national policy and large-scale information management in the context of the needs of both individual agencies and member governments.
David Hightower is a technical advisor and investor at emerging technology companies. Beginning his career as an R&D specialist in electronic design at Bell Labs, he later led R&D teams at Texas Instruments, General Electrics Microelectronics Center, GE Calma, Valid Logic, and Seiko Instruments. David was founder and CEO of AutoGate Logic, an electronic design automation company that was acquired by Actel Corporation in 1999.
Mr. Hightower now serves as a limited partner in Venrock Ventures, a venture capital fund, and performs technical due diligence for the venture capital community. David has been involved with MobileWebSurf as an investor and advisor for more than two years.
