New Initiative to Simplify CA State Taxes
CA Simple Tax Committee is now circulating an initiative petition to limit tax rates to 2.5% for most taxpayers...Any family earning less than the $100,000 salary of the legislature need not pay more.
New Initiative to Simplify State Taxes
(PRWEB) July, 2003 -- Does the process of filing your tax returns seem like an overwhelming challenge each year? For many, the answer to this question is a resounding "yes." Roland Boucher, Chairman of United Californians for Tax Reform announced that his organization is now gathering signatures to qualify the Alternative Income Tax Rate Initiative Statute .
This initiative would allow all californians taxpayers who earn less $100,000 if married filing jointly or $50,000 if single to file file their tax return on a single page tax form with a simple easy to use instruction that they can easikly file themselves without sloging through the 63 pages of unintelligible instuctions now required.
Each taxpayer would be allowed a genreous standard deduction of $14,040 if married filing jontly or $7020 if filingl singly. A single tax rate of 2.5% would apply.
Tax computations would be as easy as one,two three..
1 add up your taxable income
2 subtract the standard deduction
3 multiply by 0.025
Initiative supporters need to collect roughly 500,000 signatures by mid-August in order to qualify for the March 2004 primary ballot.
