On September 15th, 2001, the Water Department of Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica (S.U.D.A.R.) was the "First" known Municipality to convert from Chlorination to Ionization to Purify their Communities Drinking Water. Now over Two-Years later, they are Proud to Announce that their Community has received for their Second-Consecutive year, the Prestegious "Ecological Blue-Flag" for having the "Best Quality Water" in the entire Country.
