2000 Chevy Blazer Engine Fire, GM Investigates.

2000 Chevy Blazer transmision fluid line came loose while driving. The Transmision fluid came in contact with the intake manifold and started a fire.

Arlington, Texas- While driving his 2000 Blazer on July 12, Arlington resident, Darrell Sanders, noticed a mysterious odor entering his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer through the air conditioning vents. Upon stopping, Sanders realized that the engine had caught fire and was continuing to burn. A preliminary investigation found that the transmission fluid line detached spewing transmission fluid onto the intake manifold, causing the engine fire.

Nationwide insurance found the incident to be of no fault of the driver and issued a claim check to cover the nearly $4000.00 in damages.

Sanders stated, Im happy the damages are covered but I am not sure I want to drive the vehicle any longer because Im afraid it may happen again. I asked GM to replace my Blazer but they declined. Oddly enough GM representative Laura Vincent called me the same day that Vandergriff Chevrolet got wind of a press release. Ms. Vincent then claimed that GM wasnt given ample time to inspect the vehicle. Ms. Vincent then stated that GM was going to close the file."

Sanders added, I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else."
