PEGASUS AMERICA, INC. ANNOUNCES COMMITMENT TO HANDWRITING CAPTURE MARKET

New Series of Versatile "NoteTaker" Products Designed to Capture Handwritten Notes and Drawings

PLEASANTON, CA (PRWEB) August 4, 2003 -- A new, Pleasanton, California-based company, Pegasus America, Inc., today announced it is open for business, dedicated to being the market leader in handwriting capture devices.

Pegasus America, Inc. is led by two former Seiko Instruments' executives - Mike Del Vecchio, President, and Kirk Matsuo, Vice President of Marketing - who, during their tenure with Seiko's Business/Home Office Division, introduced the company's successful SmartPadTM and InkLinkTM handwriting capture devices.

"From students to businesspeople and all points in-between, literally everyone who uses a computer or PDA eventually finds they need to either transcribe handwritten notes or attempt to use ineffective OCR [optical character recognition] programs," said Del Vecchio. "Pegasus effectively expedites the process by allowing end-users to instantly save handwritten notes, electronically, with products that feature a trim ergonomic design, advanced technology, and an array of easy-to-use features."

In looking at the market for handwriting capture devices, Del Vecchio noted consumers "need to be more productive in their professional and personal lives.

"If you look at the big picture, there are more than 300,000,000 PCs and laptops in North America alone," said Del Vecchio. "While tablet PCs and other cumbersome products allow users to save handwritten notes, their portability and overall value leave much to be desired.

"In catering to this market, Pegasus is committed to developing products that are not only reliable, but ergonomically friendly and affordable as well."

Pegasus America, Inc.'s inaugural model, PC NoteTakerTM, will be available throughout North America beginning in August 2003. Product details will be announced soon.
