With major air and sea ports handling tens of millions of passenger movements per year, security is a major concern. An international exhibition, AirPORT, is therefore to be staged in Weisbaden in December to demonstrate the security technologies available. UK security integration specialist Pointer will be there, with world class technical partners sharing their stand.

(PRWEB) August 2, 2003 -- With major air and sea ports handling tens of millions of passenger movements per year, security is a major concern. An international exhibition, AirPORT, is therefore to be staged in Weisbaden in December to demonstrate the security technologies available. UK security integration specialist Pointer will be there, with world class technical partners sharing their stand.

Major show sponsors, Panasonic will have a dedicated demonstration area but will also feature heavily on the Pointer stand showing digital CCTV and iris based biometric identification. There will be links between the two stands to showcase the capability of the systems.

Lenel Systems from the USA will also be a Pointer partner. This company is best known as suppliers of the acclaimed OnGuard suite of applications that integrates access control, alarm monitoring, intrusion detection, digital video management, asset tracking, visitor management and many other functions. Lenel are experienced integration system suppliers, with over 6000 installations in 50 countries. Pointer has installed their systems in the UK and Far East.

Also from the USA will be Southwest Microwave. This company has innovative products for perimeter protection that pinpoint an intruder's location. Southwest have completed a number of high security installations with Pointer.

UK leaders in automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), Appian Technology, will also be sharing the Pointer stand. They too have worked with Pointer on a diverse range of projects for crime prevention and security.

Finally, Intech Furniture, a specialist in all aspects of control room design and fit-out, including consoles, lighting and furnishing to ensure optimum efficiency, will complete the line up.
