Well-known Screensaver Site Sold

Mediaweave sells www.screensaver.com to Freeze.com.

Woonsocket, RI, August 12, 2003 - RI Soft Systems (RISS), a division of Mediaweave, Inc., a Rhode Island-based new media and marketing communications firm today announced the sale of ScreenSaver.com to Minnesota-based Freeze.com. The sale includes a 5 year development and sponsorship contract highlighting RISS products.

RISS launched screensaver.com in 1997 and it quickly became the standard for high-quality screen savers. RISS' Duke Nukem 3D Screensaver and Entertainment Pak became the fastest growing-downloadable screen saver on the Internet and was quickly outranked by additional RISS products including "Hey Macaroni", "Liverdance" and "Clinton Blues". Within a year of its launch, ScreenSaver.com was the dominant, most popular screensaver-centric web site on the Internet. This dominance continues to this day, as the site is continually expanded and improved.

The sale of ScreenSaver.com allows RISS to transition out of the web publishing business and focus instead on its core business, which includes custom aplication development, web site design, new media programs, and marketing communications. "We will of course continue to develop custom and packaged screensavers for corporations and individuals." said Mediaweave President & CEO, Eric Robichaud. "However, now, it will be via risoftsystems.com and our parent company Mediaweave, respectively," continued Robichaud.

For Freeze, "the acquisition of the web site ScreenSaver.com improves our position as the World's best desktop content destination," said Rob Weber, President of Freeze. "Freeze will seek to continue what RISS has started, and further build ScreenSaver.com into the best possible screen saver site imaginable," noted Weber.
