Apartment, Chicago's Band of Cult Flick Soundtrack Darlings Play the Old Miami in Detroit

Apartment, musical purveyors of bizarre girl-culture rock, bring their off kilter music and absurdist theatrics to Detroit, MI on August 30th.

A new breed of experimental performance rock is brewing in Chicago. This movement is led by Caila Lipovsky, lead singer of the band apartment. Lipovsky has been known to do everything from absurdly choreographed MTV dance line moves to choking and craddling a tattooed and heavily made up plastic baby doll on stage. Apartment's music has been described as disturbingly hypnotic, a blend of chamber punk and experimental rock with a touch of Berlin Kabarett. The arrangements and compositions of Christine Heinisch draw the audience into Lipovsky's frightening world by diligently playing along with her stage antics. Apartment will perform it's enthralling brand of music in Detroit, Saturday August 30th at 9:30pm.
