Tradingpatterns.com Announces New Pricing and Purchase Options for Version 4.0 of APS Automatic Pattern Search

Tradingpatterns.com announces new pricing and purchase options for its breakthrough software for financial traders that discovers trading systems automatically using historical prices for stocks and futures contracts. The user of the software is not required to write any programs but just to specify the desired historical performance of the trading system models. The software tracks the trading signals of the discovered models and generates code for use with other popular trading programs.

New York, NY, September 2003 --- Tradingpatterns.com announces new pricing and purchase options for version 4.0 of APS Automatic Pattern Search, a program that discovers automatically trading system models that are based on price patterns. The user of APS is not required to write any programs but just to specify the desired historical performance of the trading models to discover. The details of the new pricing and purchase options can be found at the company's web site.

APS Automatic Pattern Search is based on Forward Synthesis of Trading Systems", a concept pioneered by Tradingpatterns.com. The process followed is exactly the opposite of the traditional analysis employed by traders, which is based on a definition of a trading model followed by performance back-testing.

With APS, the desired performance of the trading system is specified in advance and the program algorithm searches for a model that matches or exceeds that performance. This achieves a synthesis of trading system models based on user performance criteria and historical price input data. Thus, the productivity of a trader is dramatically improved since the trial-and-error searching for high profitability trading systems that usually takes many months or even years of work can be squeezed in a few days of searching done by APS.

The program describes the trading models discovered in plain English language and optionally generates code for implementing them in other popular trading programs. A System Tracking module monitors the trading signal generation of the models. Another function of the program allows scanning a universe of securities for price patterns formed as of the close of the market based on a set of historical performance criteria specified by the user.

Version 4.0 has an intraday data conversion routine for searching historical data for intraday patterns and also allows running APS on dual processor computers.
