Rikki Lee Travolta's "My Fractured Life" Rides Wave of Fame to Japan, German, France, and Canada.

The international audience of the popular Hollywood novel "My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta has expanded to include Japan, Germany, France, and Canada sales outlets.

ENGLAND (PRWEB) August 26, 2003 - The novel "My Fractured Life" by pop culture personality Rikki Lee Travolta continues to expand international distribution to Asia, Europe, and Canada through Ingram Book Group and Amazon.com's Internet retail outlets www.Amazom.de (Germany), www.Amazon.fr (France), www.Amazon.co.jp (Japan), and www.Amazon.ca (Canada).

On August 17, 2003 it was announced that top United Kingdom bookseller Blackwell's is carrying "My Fractured Life" for European audiences. To meet demand in England, Ireland, and Scotland, www.Amazon.co.uk has also begun carrying the title. Outside of the U.K., the rest of Europe, Asia, and Africa will be jointly served by the German, France, Japan, and UK outlets.

According to the three top United States retailers Amazon/Borders Books & Music, Barnes & Nobel, and Books-A-Million, Travolta's "My Fractured Life" is a popular purchase among customers of the New York Times bestsellers "Living History" by Hillary Clinton, "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, and "Four Blind Mice" by James Patterson.

Fans making advanced purchases of "Bleachers" by mega-author by John Grisham also purchase the Travolta book. Grisham is the author of "The Firm", "The Client", and "The Pelican Brief" which were translated into blockbuster films starring Tom Cruise, Susan Sarandon, Julia Roberts, and Denzel Washington.

Ranked by readers as a 5-star title, "My Fractured Life" is described as displaying similarities to "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck and "Less Than Zero" by Bret Easton Ellis at the Canadian Amazon site.
The book tells the story of the price of fame for an actor on the downside of fame. It is credited with a realistic view of the hazards of sexual excess and chemical addiction in Hollywood.

Port Magee Pictures has negotiated the film pitch rights. The entertainment company produced the 2002 television series "Santiara." Port Magee principals Dan Riley and Peter J. Clark share individual credits on "The Original Kings of Comedy," "Superstar," "The Wood," and "The Core."

In February 2003, Travolta became the first member of his family to appear in the starring role of Danny Zuko in the musical "Grease" since John Travolta's appearance in the 1978 film adaptation. The younger Travolta's credits include work with Ron Howard, Rob Reiner, Lisa Minnelli, Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson.

Travolta was listed on the 45 annual Grammy Awards nomination ballot in six categories and has appeared throughout the world in headlining roles in "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," "West Side Story," and "Bye Bye Birdie." Names that appear in the book include actor George Clooney, actress Julia Roberts, pop princess Britney Spears, and "Mission Impossible" star Tom Cruise.

"Amazon.com customers continue to respond in record numbers to our everyday low prices and free shipping," said Tom Szkutak, chief financial officer of Amazon.com during the announcement of its second quarter financial results. Amazon.com is the global leader in e-commerce, with more than 30 million customers around the world.

Ingram Book Group maintains inventory on an estimated 650,000 titles, with additional access to materials representing thousands of publishers and imprints. Ingram Library Services maintains a National Book Clubs Standing Order Program that supplies selections of the Today Show's "Today Book Club," Good Morning America's "Read This!" program, the USA Today Book Club, and the "Reading with Ripa" light fiction program of Live with Regis and Kelly.
