NAMWOLF Disappointed with Kohls Department Stores Failure to Cooperate with NAACP Report Card Effort

The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) recently learned that Kohl's Department Stores did not complete a survey sent by the NAACP as part of its Report Card process. This survey was intended to gather information regarding, among other things, Kohls Department Stores equal employment practices and track record relative to working with minority-owned businesses.

MILWAUKEE – The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) recently learned that Kohl's Department Stores did not complete a survey sent by the NAACP as part of its Report Card process. This survey was intended to gather information regarding, among other things, Kohls Department Stores equal employment practices and track record relative to working with minority-owned businesses.

We think it was a mistake not to engage the NAACP in discussions about how to ensure that minority-owned businesses have full and fair opportunities to compete for Kohl's business," stated Kathleen Brieske, Associate Director for NAMWOLF. We hope that Kohl's will reconsider its position and complete the NAACPs survey. Hopefully the Company recognizes that its supplier diversity base should match the diversity of its customer base," she added.

The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in June, 2001. It is a national trade association comprised of a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession. The primary aim of the organization is to advocate for the utilization of minority and women-owned law firms by major corporations and public entities throughout the United States.
