Apartment, Brings It's Death Defying Burlesque Music to Nevins Live in Evanston

Apartment, musical purveyors of bizarre girl-culture rock, bring their off kilter music and absurdist theatrics to Evanston, IL on September 4th.

A new breed of experimental performance rock is brewing in Chicago. Caila Lipovsky, lead singer of the band apartment, leads this movement. Lipovsky has been known to do everything from absurdly choreographed MTV dance line moves to choking and cradling a tattooed and heavily made up plastic baby doll on stage. Apartment's music has been described as disturbingly hypnotic, a blend of chamber punk and experimental rock with a touch of Berlin Kabarett. The arrangements and compositions of Christine Heinisch draw the audience into Lipovsky's frightening world by creating equally tipsy music to accompany her stage antics. Apartment will perform its enthralling brand of music in Evanston, Thursday, September 4th at 9:30pm.
