BLOGTV'S NEW STRATEGY FOCUSES ON OPEN SOURCE TECHNOLOGY.

BlogTV.com, a rising leader in the blogosphere" and personalized service provider for Internet users publishing blogs, unveiled a strategy that will empower bloggers and free them of licensing restrictions.

Nashville, TN – Aug 28, 2003 – BlogTV, a rising leader in the blogosphere" and personalized service provider for Internet users publishing blogs, unveiled a strategy that will empower bloggers and free them of licensing restrictions and associated fees by providing the benefits of Open Source technology to its new and existing consumer base.

Rather than limit choice, and restrict bloggers to proprietary applications, BlogTV offers both a commitment to common protocol and industry standards as well as the ability for Internet users to publish with personality" on any one of a hundred different channels" to choose from and publish to. These BlogTV channels are mainstream and easily identifiable Web addresses such as BlogAmerica.com and BushRepublicans.com.

The objective and principal goal of the strategy is to not only provide users a unique advantage in fostering a relevant audience instantly by easily informing readers about what the authors interests are, but to also facilitate community and interaction with the thousands of existing hard-core, dedicated users of powerful Open Source blog applications on the Internet today.

Blog, the Internet term for self-publishing, is a new media which allows anyone with Internet access the ability to easily publish thoughts, opinions, and seamlessly integrate links and references to other Web sites and information sources with no computer programming or Web design skills required on a personal or business Web page.

Blogging has become increasingly popular over the past year as mainstream media magazine TIME credited bloggers with facilitating the resignation of Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott from his leadership position. The New York Times regularly publishes articles about the blogging phenomena. Democratic Presidential candidates Howard Dean and John Kerry both have blogs online. The President of the United States official campaign Web site offers bloggers live news feeds and campaign headlines to integrate into their personal blog.

BlogTV plans to offer technical support and Nordstrom caliber" customer service for the Open Source application they intend to make available to their members.

Austin Chase, CEO and President of BlogTV.com, has long been an advocate and user of the Open Source application that BlogTV will deploy and support.

BlogTV also intends to assist the volunteer developers of these applications by further contributing to the code via in-house programmers and also consistently provide monetary support and other donations to independent developers of Open Source blogging applications. Mr. Chase has been committed to this practice for well over one year now and intends to be more aggressive in such philanthropy as the BlogTV network flourishes.

Tennessee's BlogTV

Based in Franklin, TN home to Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, George Jones, Amy Grant, Naomi Judd, and countless other movers and shakers in mass media, BlogTV is a progressive media company providing Internet users worldwide the opportunity to let their voice be heard.

Contrary to stereotypes, Tennessee is very contemporary and is on its way to becoming the Silicon leader of the South. Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Computers—one of the worlds top PC makers, thought enough of the Nashville area to construct a one hundred million dollar facility in Silicon South.

Tennessee not only backs technology, but also puts money where the mouth is. The Seventh Annual Tennessee Venture Forum presented by the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation will be held on November 17th and 18th at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Chattanooga Choo Choo is barreling down the super information highway. New technology companies are encouraged to contact the Governors office to inquire about the benefits of becoming part of one of the most promising, technological friendly states today
.
BlogTV is honored to be based in Tennessees Williamson County; one of the most breathtaking, beautiful, richest, and technology friendly counties in America. Even Microsoft® has an office in BlogTVcountry.

Mr. Chase adds, Besides, its really nice bumping into Wynonna Judd at the grocery store, Billy Ray Cyrus at Blockbuster, Tony Brown at the Boundry, Toby Keith at the airport, Naomi at the bookstore, Dolly Parton at Wal-Mart, Frank Wycheck (Tennessee Titans) at P.F. Chang's, and Randy Owen of Alabama at Olive Garden. Randy even set me up a meeting with his music publisher—what a cool guy! And bumping into Tanya Tucker's personal assistant, Laura, was a memorable event as she hand fed me Mu Shu Chicken while sitting at the bar in P.F. Chang's. Yes, I love Chinese food and all the people of the Great State of Tennessee. Oh, just one more important thing; Go Titans!"
