SMARTRUNK SYSTEM II(TM) WIDE AREA TRUNKING SYSTEM EXPANDS INTEGRATED NETWORK CAPABILITIES AND OFFERS ENHANCED FEATURES.

Representing the combination of its proven SmarTrunk II trunking protocol with a newly upgraded ST-510 Network Switch, the new SmarTrunk System II transforms the venerable SmarTrunk system from a single site, 16-channel system to a multi-site, wide area network with up to 256 site locations of 32 channels each.

San Diego, California (PRWEB) September 3, 2003 -- SmarTrunk Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of multi-channel trunking equipment for VHF and UHF radio systems, today announced the new SmarTrunk System II, the most significant upgrade to the SmarTrunk II Digital Trunking System since it was first introduced in 1994. Now communication system operators have an economical way to offer dispatch, private calling, and telephone interconnect service over a wide area, multi-site network.

The result is a single, integrated communication network offering wide area coverage, plus a host of new advanced features such as voice prompts, digital voice mail, call forwarding, voice logging, dynamic regrouping and many more.

The SmarTrunk System II is compatible with all SmarTrunk II(TM) base station controllers and Omni(TM) logic boards, which makes it possible to upgrade an existing SmarTrunk II system without having to add new controllers, repeaters, or subscriber radios. With compatible radios offered by Kenwood, Icom, Motorola, Standard and Yaesu/Vertex, the SmarTrunk System II offers the largest radio selection of any VHF/UHF trunking protocol.

A key component of the SmarTrunk System II is the newly upgraded ST-510 Network Switch, a rugged, computerized switch with a modular design that allows easy expansion of users and sites. Recent upgrades include a new ST-100RA Multiplexer and a new ST-422 Switch Board with built-in remote site telemetry capability. Complete system management and billing software packages are available in English or Spanish.
