FLORIDA BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY Approves Continuing Education at the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF ESTHETICS, MIAMI 2003

Cosmetologists and specialists in the state of Florida can take state-certified classes at the annual Miami International Congress of Esthetics—a skin care and spa trade conference—to satisfy CEU requirements for license renewal.

This year, Florida cosmetologists and specialists attending The International Congress of Esthetics, Miami 2003, will be able to make their attendance count toward their licenses. The three-day educational conference and exhibition, to take place October 18th, 19th and 20th, at the James L. Knight Convention Center in Miami, FL, has been board certified (Provider No. 0002743) to offer eight of its General Session lectures and demonstrations for continuing education credit.

Florida cosmetologists and specialists are required to take 16 continuing-education credit hours to renew their licenses every two years. Four of the continuing education credit hours must be electives. The International Congress of Esthetics will offer eight elective classes (8 credit hours total).

• Body Buffing (live demo) by Lynn Parentini - 1 CEU, Course No. 0007664
• The Confidence Factor by Victoria Rayner - 1 CEU, Course No. 0007665
• Airbrush Makeup (live demo) by Suzie Alvarez - 1 CEU, Course No. 0007674
• Natural vs. Synthetic Ingredients by Mario Montalvo - 1 CEU, Course No.0007677

The International Congress of Esthetics, Miami 2003, Continuing Education program is a quick way for Florida cosmetologists and specialists to fulfill their four required elective credit hours. The all-inclusive three-day program is $60.00 and it includes visits to the exhibition area, manufacturer workshops and all continuing education classes.
