THE RAISE THE BAR” TOUR
Saturday, October 11th, Celebrated Brooklyn artist invites you on a unique tour of some of Atlantic Ave.'s most diverse establishments. Each bar will be exhibiting its own art installation, its own dj, its own vibe.
Having been a bar patron for his entire career, Frantz, a painter, has decided to introduce fellow patrons and art lovers to a celebration of the resurgence of Atlantic Avenue and its unique establishments. As one of Brooklyns most celebrated artists, Frantzs paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and institutions throughout the tri-state area, including the prestigious National Black Fine Art Show at the Puck Building, Planet Hollywoods Star Bar, and The New Jersey State Bar Association.
The theme for this event is Raise The Bar”, and the artist has promised to do just that, as the days events have been located and sequenced in a traditional bar crawl” fashion. For those unfamiliar with the term, Frantz explains, …every soul housed by an artists perception has spent an inordinate amount of time in bars, for conversation, for inspiration, to be dangled in front of the muse for the next assault on the world. Because every bar has its own virtues, we will sample some of the best Brooklyn has to offer.”
Each bar will be exhibiting its own art installation, its own dj, its own vibe. Brooklyns diverse social scene is very much in the forefront as the fun begins Saturday, October 11, 2003 at:
·The Brazen Head, 228 Atlantic Avenue, (12-3pm)
·Last Exit, 136 Atlantic Avenue, (3-6pm)
·Kili, 81 Hoyt St. (off Atlantic Avenue) (6-9pm)
·Vegas, 135 Smith Street (9-until)
